The laser initially worked for only a few minutes before failing, which was disappointing considering how bright and attractive the flashlight itself was. The controls felt solid and responsive, so it was surprising that the laser component didn’t hold up. This made me wonder whether the issue came from inconsistent quality control or a weak internal part. Fortunately, the seller quickly stepped in to help and replaced the unit without any hassle. The new one performed just as advertised, delivering a strong, clear laser and an impressively bright light. Their customer service left a very positive impression and restored my confidence in the product. After using the replacement for a while, I ended up purchasing a couple more units of this model. That’s when I noticed that the versions that mount via M-Lok have some stability issues, becoming loose after several rounds of live fire. Because of this, I strongly prefer the Picatinny rail mounted version, which stays secure and maintains zero much better. This particular model also mounts slightly offset, keeping it out of the optic’s line of sight and improving overall usability. It’s positioned high enough that a suppressor doesn’t obstruct the laser, unlike some lower-profile lights that end up shining directly into the can. All the additional units I bought were flawless, with no defects and consistent performance across the board.

I’ve only mounted the unit so far, but the initial fit feels solid and secure, though real testing at the range will reveal how well it truly holds up. I received a polymer body rather than an aluminum one, but the listing never promised aluminum as some reviewers claimed. Personally, I’m happy with the polymer construction because my rifle is already heavy, and this keeps the overall weight more manageable. The green laser is impressively bright—much brighter than the standalone red laser currently mounted on my rifle. My plan is to zero the green laser to match the red laser, which is already perfectly dialed in, and then remove the red one entirely. The flashlight component outshines all of my existing weapon lights, delivering a very strong and crisp beam. The controls at the rear are intuitive, easy to reach, and feel well-designed for quick activation. I also appreciate the magnetic charging port, which connected smoothly and brought the unit to a full charge surprisingly fast during its first use. Visually, the setup looks great on the rifle and fits the overall build nicely. If it maintains its zero and runs reliably through range sessions, it will be an exceptional value at this price point.So far, I’m genuinely impressed with its performance and construction. Darkness will set in shortly, and I’m eager to see whether the light and laser can reach the tree line behind my property. If they do, that will be a huge win in my book. UPDATE: both the light and green laser are extremely bright, with the laser being almost shockingly intense. The next update will come after range day, but for now, this looks like a keeper

After posting my initial review, the company contacted me through Amazon and immediately offered either an exchange or a full refund. Their professionalism and willingness to resolve the issue quickly really stood out. Combined with how well the first unit performed, I felt this level of customer service deserved recognition. Because of that, and because the working unit is exceptionally bright and reliable, I’m raising my rating to five stars. It’s refreshing to see a company that actually steps in and takes responsibility when something goes wrong. This is the second light of this model I’ve purchased. The first one sits on my SBR AR-15, and it has been fantastic—extremely bright, compact, and easy to install and adjust. A bit of Loctite is all you need to keep everything secure. It feels durable enough for regular use, and the streamlined design fits the rifle perfectly. However, the second unit I ordered clearly wasn’t new, despite being listed as such. When I opened the box, all the screws had visible wear, the hex key showed signs of heavy use, and there were even bits of leaves or debris stuck to the light. While the second one does function properly, I’m still considering returning it on principle alone. It’s an inexpensive light, and for what it is, the brightness and button layout make it ideal for my suppressed SBR PCC—my “bump in the night” setup. I’m not the biggest fan of the rechargeable battery system, but I haven’t found another light with this same sleek appearance, solid controls, and performance that uses CR123 batteries. So overall, the product itself earns five stars for being a budget-friendly light that works extremely well. But whoever shipped me a used unit disguised as new definitely deserves a one-star rating.

I purchased this unit along with the laser/flashlight combo from the same company, as well as a Votatu model that’s very similar in design. After mounting both Toughsoul units to my rifle using M-Lok, I zeroed them in and headed straight to the range for a real-world test. I ran four boxes of 5.56 and two boxes of .223, giving everything a solid workout. During shooting, the Toughsoul combo unit shifted slightly, but this standalone laser didn’t move at all. In fact, it almost felt like it performed better the more rounds I put through the rifle. For the last two boxes of ammo, I used only this laser to test its consistency, and the accuracy was incredible. Even with the target pushed all the way to the end of the rail, the laser stayed precise and predictable. I was actually hitting more accurately with the laser than with my red dot, which genuinely surprised me. I bought this because I’m transitioning from a red dot to a Steiner optic, and this laser feels like exactly the tool I needed for that switch. I tightened it very firmly—secure enough to ensure it wouldn’t move, but not so tight that I risked bending the mount. If anything ever shifts, I’ll simply add Loctite, but so far everything is rock solid. As for the Votatu, it’s staying in the box and going straight back; I didn’t even bother trying it after seeing how well this one performed. This Toughsoul unit quickly became the clear winner for me. I like it so much that I’m genuinely excited to keep running it on future range days.
